Where is the Crypto Gibraltar Festival held?
The highly anticipated festival will take place over two exciting days in the modern Ocean Village area of Gibraltar. The event is set in a “crypto village” next to stunning yachts and excellent restaurants. Ocean Village has a unique feel, like a small British version of Dubai mixed with Venice – an artificial neighborhood built on the water. With luxury hotels, smaller boats, and large yachts, Ocean Village offers a fantastic view of the harbor, with the promenade and Grand Ocean Plaza offering a breathtaking overview. More than 1000 crypto enthusiasts from both institutional and retail sectors will attend Crypto Gibraltar Festival. Gibraltar is now a leading global crypto hub, joining cities like Singapore, Miami, Dubai, Lisbon, London, Berlin, Barcelona, and Zug.
What will be covered at the festival?
The festival kicks off on Thursday, September 21st, 2022, with a welcome reception, followed by educational sessions and debates, providing insights from some of the biggest names in the industry. Evenings will feature concerts, networking events for crypto enthusiasts, and various parties, offering ample opportunities to strengthen existing relationships and form new ones. A detailed agenda for Crypto Gibraltar Festival 2022 is expected to be released in the coming months.
Why is Gibraltar the perfect location?
Gibraltar has been a pioneer in the cryptocurrency industry, introducing the world’s first DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) regulatory framework in 2017, updated in 2020. It also issued the first full crypto banking license, which can be easily verified via the FSC website. In April 2022, new virtual asset legislation was introduced, offering further protection to customers against market manipulation. Gibraltar has earned its reputation as a leader in the cryptocurrency sector.
How to reach Ocean Village in Gibraltar?
Located just 9 minutes from Gibraltar Airport and only a short walk from the Spanish border, Ocean Village is easy to reach. If there are no direct flights from your city to Gibraltar, Malaga Airport in Andalucía or Jerez Airport near Cádiz are both reasonable alternatives, with a car journey of less than two hours. Here are some travel options from various locations:
Uit Londen, VK: Both British Airways and EasyJet offer direct flights to Gibraltar from Gatwick or Heathrow, with a flight time of around 3 hours.
From Manchester, UK: EasyJet provides direct flights, while British Airways offers options with a stopover in London. The journey takes just over 3 hours with EasyJet.
Bristol: Direct flights from Bristol take approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes.
From Barcelona: A flight to Malaga Airport, followed by a short drive or bus ride to Gibraltar, is the most common route.
Tanger, Marokko: The ferry ride from Tangier to Gibraltar takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Lissabon: While driving from Lisbon is my preferred method, there are flights to Malaga with a bus connection to Gibraltar.
Parijs: The easiest way to travel from Paris to Gibraltar is with a stopover in London.
